BF#3

A couple of pics from the show. Seriously there were so many crazy sick bikes that I was a little numb. At the end of the day Shea and Michael rode there bikes into the show and some dude walks up to Shea. He asks if he rode his bike from MO. He says yes and the dude hands over this insane nasty home made shirt as a gift. It was the Doing It award and it was rightly earned. Today Michael, Shea, and I got Doing It tattoo's. Ask about a hand hug and we will school you.

Lonliest Highway in America

After having our asses handed to us in Yosemite we drop into the hi desert of Nevada. We decided to push on across the 6 hwy. It is a stretch of 168 miles of absolutely nothing. No gas, no houses, no people, no noise. Michaels camera took these shots put in real life it was almost black out. We filled up out of gallon jugs and decided to lay down and enjoy the silence. Weather was perfect and I felt a peace that is rarely felt. It was a truly great moment and nothing that can be written about, but I tried anyway.

How We Rolled

One of the worst parts was repacking your bike every morning. After a couple of times it got easier. My Triumph looks straight Sanford & Sons. i bought that 1 gallon canteen and used it for gas. Best idea ever it just hung off the side and was easy to get to.

First Major Fix

Second day we have to deal with Sheas neck bearings. The loose rollers have already self destructed and he was smart enough to bring the timken set. The main problem was the neck was to long and the bearings were for a 1" stem not 7/8 which we had. We ended up at Irish Rich's place outside Denver and let me just say he is a sweet dude he let us straight up take over his shop and thrash. I cut off about an inch off his neck and then welded in the Harley cups, made some shims out of old bars and we got rolling. Still a little janky but it made it the whole trip. Big thanks to Rich.

DOING IT

Well folks I just walked in the door and I am still in a daze of crazy long miles. Kansas is the shittest state in the lower 48 to ride across. WE got to do it twice. As I settle in I will start posting pics and stories. WE had a blast and all the shit times were directly influenced by the good. Little Shea is now a MAN. Little man rode his Honda 750 all the way with countless breakdowns. He made it and only had a slight heart attack/stroke/rapid aging. You should see him he looks like me now! None of the other bikes had any major issues. I did not even put a wrench on the Triumph. Nothing! Anyways we put down about 4300 miles in total and we are all a little crippled for it. The Born Free show was actually better then I could have imagined. Endless sick bikes, met some real cool dudes and it was all free. Met some dudes that knew about the Anchor and that always is cool.
