Outlaws and Such

Seeing that I had all day to just hang out I did some reading. I bought the Danny Lyons book 'Bikeriders' while I was up in Des Moines for the Dice party. What strikes me very odd is the fact that there where allot of different bikes ridden by club members. There is one shot of some guy straight up riding a stock BMW and dressed down in his biker colors. Lots of Triumphs and then the typical scum bag Harley sleds. There are some real cool choppers of the time that even by today's standards would be proper. This is my favorite picture out of the book. In the book it is in color and the girly with the white glasses has got the reddest hair and is probably dead by now. Damn I love her anyways. If you get a chance to just look at this book I highly suggest it. Epic timeless proper Midwest chopper shit.

As a side note if you have read any of the Sonny Barger books they talk about guys riding Triumphs and Bsa's but getting ragged on for it. Still I think the whole chopper world would be better off with out the brand loyal craziness. As long as it is a chopper who cares. Now if it is a chopper that was built by your hands then who can say anything about it? Who I say. Nothing can beat a well built stripped down deathtrap. Build it then ride the shit out of it. That might be the only thing that is still the same from the old days. Same goes for Hot Rods, Kustoms, and dragsters. Along with a well built simple chopper these things are forever. A real Hot Rod will have the same effect a hundred years from now, same with a clean kustom. Period correctness is only about having good taste. I don't even think I think about that crap when I put a bike together. What I do know is what looks good and how it is gonna function. Everybody has there own taste but timeless shit is always and forever the only place to look.

Merry Freaking X mas

Well it is almost here and the kids are going koo koo for presents. Any ways hope all of you have a good day and if you want to know I started both of the Ironheads as of today. My red bike started in one kick, Digger took a good 15-20 but once it fired it sounded great. Do the break in and then it will be on in spring. Basically I got both my winter projects knocked out before Xmas and now it is time for the truck. Picked up a set of Astro Supremes and I should have the front axle out by Sunday. Goodtimes.

Chopper Glory car style

Here was my Ranchero after I started the chop. There was a article in a old Popular mechanics of a guy who built a Churro for bonneville. He built the shit out of the stock 6 banger and gave it a insane chop job. So that was the inspiration be hind the 9 inch chop job. Anyway I sold it off before it was really finished and now someone else is calling her baby.

Snow birds are Go

Well I have just been out riding the Triumph and let me tell you folks. It was great to go and flog the Scrambler a little. It hit almost 50 today and we will take what we can get. Next time I see a Bantam for sale I am gonna snag it. Tried out my new full face and it sucks. Oh well still looking for the perfect helmet. As for the shop we are crazy busy and all projects are gonna get our full attention after the holidays. Aaron's 750 got paint last night and is on the go back together end of the spectrum.

Regret is a Mother

Now that the arctic blanket has covered the mid west all I feel is regret that I did not get out and ride more. Between the new baby and working on average of about 60 hours a week I really just could not find the time to just go ride. Customers bikes had to get done and that was our priority. Next year that is gonna change. I am gonna attack the fucking road with absolute recklessness, The ironhead and myself are gonna make the Born Free show. There will be no excuses because this is in stone. Truth to tell I don't really care about the actual show part but it will give me a good point B from the point A. I will leave there and head north up the coast and see some friends, head through Lake Tahoe and end up staying a few days in SLC. All in about two weeks time. So this next spring I will be breaking in the Ironhead and making plans but come June we are gonna split. Anyone down?

F Stop F-ing Rules

Brad Finch stopped at the shop today and captured the final thrash on Josh's bike. Look him up on flicker and check out his pics. Josh is stoked and all we have left is the paint on the tins. Look out for the final details and I will post a full build of the details when we can ride this thing.

Frankie Does Striping

I was trying to think of something witty and trashy but really she is too cool for school so I will just shut up. Frankie lays done some wack a doo lines on the Ironhead and really makes the tank pop. Thanks girl

Paint the Digger, Dig the Paint

Well this is what I laid out for the digger. Next time I you see this bike it will be done and running. Boo Yaa

Saturday at the shop, painting Josh,s bike.

Well, for a few days at the shop we kinda slowed down, so I had been thinking of changeing my CB750 up a little bit. This is what happens when I get around Ricky to much. So tore it all down, after a springer, new bars, new seat, made a different sissy bar, and this is what I came up with. Now that I got this far, we have gotten busy at the shop, so my progress has slowed down a bit. But I will find a way to finish before W.O.W., so keep a watch and I will keep posting as I move along.
Thats it for now, Tony
